Many of the members of the Burroughs Classes of the 50's have a get-to-gether
every year or so now. These are called AG - 1, AG - II in order.
(AG = Arroyo Grande) Last year there were some pictures taken but
yours truly didn't get any of them. This year thanks to the efforts of Rob
Carr and his bride there will be a myriad of pictures available. After
some heroic efforts by some of the guests at this occasion, yours truly was able
to put names to the faces in the pictures. Isn't that just ducky??? My thanks to all of you who aided in this quest. |

Let the Greaser explain; in photo #1, Deem is telling the Greaser just how frightened
she was of him during their school years, and that her mother forbade her
to even speak to him... In the 2nd photo the Greaser is chuckling
at her silliness, while she is giggling a sigh of relief... The 3rd photo
shows the Greaser displaying shy embarrassment while Deem pecks him on the
cheek, putting to rest all those fears of the past, and in defiance of her dear

In posting things to this website I have to be careful about posting something that
is sensitive to the folks out there in cyberland. These three pictures
were in the lot on the CD's I received and I thought them very cute and that
they must hold a story. I queried Jim about them and heres the result of
that query!! |
Hmmm, I have my own "Swift" (well, almost!) take on these pictures, as a corrective
to Reverend Swami's, aka, Greaser, very possibly, hazy recollection of the aforementioned
photos and the moments they represent. As follows (viewing from left to right): - Photo #1 depicts Diane's ardent plea for Swami to hear her confessional (notice her arm interlocked with his), while he, with his glowingly benign, compassionate smile considers her earnest entreaty. - - Photo #2 shows blessed Swami and an ecstatic Diane sharing a subsequent moment of mutual fondness, as he, too, humbly admits to the attraction of memories of long ago earthly pleasures, and youthful passion (and, still notice her arm interlocked with his) Photo #3 portrays the relief of Diane following the revelation of her most innermost cravings and desires withheld all these passing years, as she bestows a beatific kiss upon the cheek of the most revered one. So a scant three days after I post this story from the "Annointed One" which
seemingly satisfactorily describes the activities in the above picture.
Comes this story from the hinterland which refutes not only the substance
but also lays claim to a minor falsehood. You be the judge. |
