Red Rock Canyon |

Red Rock Canyon Loosely referred to as the Grand Canyon of the Mojave Desert, Red Rock Canyon is an interesting display of Mother Natures
strange forces. A mixture of sandstone, limestone and other minerals which have heaved forth in sometimes brilliant and at other times subtle colors. It is fairly easy to get to the various sites which exhibit the most vivid displays of color and shape. Now a state park it is protected by the Park Service and BLM. It is located just 24 miles from Ridgecrest and is an easy day trip. |

Here's three new Red Rock Canyon photos shot in January 2006 by Ron Smith.
It looks much the same as it always did. But in anyones eyes it is still
spectacular. |
